COOS BAY, Ore. – Two earthquakes struck off the Oregon Coast Thursday morning.
The first, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake, was recorded at 6:25 a.m., 160.1 miles west of Coos Bay.
That earthquake had a depth of 6.2 miles.
The second earthquake had a magnitude of 5.9 and shook 183.1 miles west of Coos Bay. It also had a depth of 6.2 miles.
Both earthquakes are in the same area where a 6.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Aug. 29.
No tsunami is expected from the tremor, according to the National Tsunami Warning Center.
