Oregon State Police out in force assisting motorists stranded on I-84 Hood River and Cascade Locks

The Oregon State Police is out in force this morning assisting with the motorists stranded on I-84 between Hood River and Cascade Locks. Troopers from the Portland Area Command & The Dalles Area Command have loaded up with extra fuel and some provisions to help as much as we can with the health and safety of the stranded.

OSP & ODOT crews are working hard on clearing paths for emergency vehicles, snow plows and the many passenger vehicles. Oregon Department of Transportation will need to bring in the big grader and equipment to break up the ice pack before the deicer and salt be spread.

We are urging all travelers to avoid the area. #KnowBeforeYouGo and keep your eye on www.tripcheck.com for updates on the road conditions and the closures in the surrounding areas.
