Portland man offers reward for father’s Navy diving watch lost on trip to Rockaway Beach

A Portland man is asking for help finding his father’s Navy diving watch.

Ronald Pearson said he and his wife went to Rockaway Beach the first weekend of June to celebrate their anniversary.

Somewhere along the way, they lost a family heirloom.

Pearson’s father served in the Navy for over 20 years. During his service, he received a diving watch made by Doxa.

Pearson’s father, now 80 years old, gave the watch to his son. Pearson said he has not yet told his father that the watch has been lost.

Pearson said it has a sterling silver band with an orange face. It has jumping wings on one side and a diving mask on the other.

Pearson believes a pin might have broken off the wristband, but he isn’t sure where it happened. The couple made three stops on the way to Rockaway Beach, and they traced their steps back, but the watch was nowhere to be found.

They posted an ad on Craigslist asking for help finding it, contacted the Rockaway Beach Police Department and they hope to post fliers around the beach community.

Pearson is offering a $200 reward for the return of the watch. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ronaldpearsonjr1@gmail.com.
