COOS BAY, Ore. – A 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck off the southern coast of Oregon on Sunday afternoon, the USGS reported.
The epicenter was roughly 140 miles west of Coos Bay, with a depth of just over 6 miles.
At this point, there has not been a tsunami watch issued for the quake.
The earthquake hit five days after a 7.9 magnitude quake shook in the Gulf of Alaska, prompting tsunami alerts to go out all across the Pacific Northwest coastline.
